Originally from Leeds, Paul has been a resident of Llangollen since 1991.
 

He served 31 years as a police officer, 10 years of which was in West Yorkshire where he was commended by the Chief Constable for his work in the community. In 1989, he was awarded Police Officer of the Year for his work in reducing youth anti-social behaviour in an area of Bradford. 

Upon moving to Wales, Paul continued his work with young people, chairing the Ysgol Dinas Bran PTA and acting as Vice Chair to the Board of Governors. He was also a youth football coach and chairman of Llangollen Youth FC. 

In policing, Paul remained focussed on reducing crime throughout his career. Working closely with the council, when District Commander in the south of Wrexham, and as partnership lead for the eastern division at the end of his time in policing. 

Paul now works part-time for the North Wales Area Planning Board for Substance Misuse, particularly working with people who are homeless and criminal justice partners.
